Swindon Road Club - Club 10 Time Trial Competitions 2017

Points competition

  • Riders will score points for each ride based on how their time compares to their previous best time during the current season.
  • A time equal to the rider’s previous best time will score 60 points.
  • An additional point will be gained for every second by which the previous best time is beaten and a point will be dropped for every second by which the previous best time is exceeded. A maximum of 15 points can be gained or dropped in any one week.  For example, a rider with a previous best time of 25 minutes will score:

70 points for a time of 24 minutes 50 seconds.
75 points for a time of 24 minutes 45 seconds or faster.
60 points for a time of 25 minutes.
50 points for a time of 25 minutes 10 seconds.
45 points for a time of 25 minutes 15 seconds or slower.

  • A rider’s first ride of the season will score 60 points.
  • A rider’s points total will be based on their best weekly points scores. The number of best points scores counting is explained in the general notes below.

Scratch competitions

  • The Scratch competitions will be based on the average speed of a rider’s best times.  The number of rides counting towards each competition is explained in the general notes below.
  • Riders may be eligible for more than one Scratch competition.  For example, a 14 year old girl will be eligible for all Scratch competitions with the exception of the 50 & Over competition.
  • Although the organisers will endeavour to assess a rider’s eligibility for the respective competitions, riders are responsible for notifying the organisers of any errors.

General notes

  • Eligibility for the individual competitions is shown in the table below. In addition, eligibility will be dependent on riders carrying out marshalling and/or timekeeping duties.  It is anticipated that each rider will be required to assist at at least 1 counting event, but this will be reviewed as the season progresses.  Riders aged under 18 will not be required to carry out any duties.
  • The number of rides counting to the respective competitions is shown in the table below.
  • The award of prizes in each category will be dependent on sufficient riders completing the required number of counting rides shown in the table below.
  • Runner up prizes in each competition will be awarded at the discretion of the SRC Committee.
  • Where fewer than the minimum number of riders complete the required number of counting rides, the number of counting rides will be reduced.  The number of counting rides in each competition will not be reduced below the minimum shown in the table below
  • Where fewer than the minimum number of riders complete the minimum number of rides, no prizes will be awarded for that competition
  • The Prologue and Come and Try Its will not count towards the competitions
